Introducing Raptive Transparency Reporting for Platinum, Platinum Elite, and Luminary Creator Levels

Emily Emily Burt

At Raptive, we believe creators deserve clarity and insight into what they get paid. The ad industry has always been extremely complicated with how and when ad providers pay out, their revenue share, and how to navigate issues where advertisers don’t pay. Trust is a huge issue in our industry for valid reasons. When push comes to shove, creators are usually the ones most impacted.

While we’ve done a lot as a company to drive more transparency for our creators and for creators across the web, we know we can do better. We believe sharing clear context into how advertisers are spending on your site and the revenue split between creators and Raptive is a critical way to build trust and transparency.

That’s why we’re now offering reporting that shows this breakdown. We’re even taking it a step further, with two additional reports that drill down in greater detail to show you the auctions and bidders on your site.

We haven’t shared this level of detail in the past because we believe optimizing those auctions and bidders is 100% our job—creators have enough to manage every day without worrying about the weedy details of millions of ad impressions. But our hope is that by sharing this in-depth look at the revenue process for your site, you’ll feel confident that we’re true partners in this. We want to deliver the highest RPMs and the best opportunities for your business, and we know trust is key!

What each report shows:

  • Gross Earnings includes the total earnings from advertisers broken down by each day of the month. Here, you can see gross and net revenue for your site, your revenue share, and on rare occasions when an error happens, any additional revenue.
  • By Auction Type offers a detailed breakdown of the different ad auction systems through which Raptive creators earn money. For every ad impression on your site, we conduct several ad auctions to ensure that we’re maximizing your revenue. This report allows you to filter by gross and net revenue, and see details on the percentage of revenue you’re receiving from each auction Raptive works with, like Prebid, Google AdX, and Amazon Transparent Ad Marketplace.
  • By Ad Tech Partner shows the amount spent by each of our bidders participating in the auctions on your site. In each of the auctions we conduct, many ad tech partners participate to drive the value of every impression up. This report also allows you to filter by gross and net revenue, and see details on the amount and percentage of revenue you’re receiving from each of our ad partners.

This initial phase will be available for Raptive Platinum, Platinum Elite, and Luminary creators for sites with more than $100,000 in net revenue over the last twelve months. We aim to make transparency reporting available to all Raptive creators in the future.

As we build out more reporting and granularity where it makes sense, we hope you’ll share feedback so we can keep improving things and getting you the insights you need to make the best decisions for your business.

This is a huge step for the ad industry, and we are pushing for more companies to adopt this approach. With the constantly evolving advertising world, you can rest assured that we’ve got your back, but we’ll also bring you along for the ride. We want to show you how the industry works behind the scenes and how we’re reshaping it to be more fair, transparent, and inclusive.

More transparency is a good thing. We could all use more of it in the complicated world we’re currently living in. We’re motivated to keep iterating, getting better, and giving you the future you deserve to keep creating amazing content.
