Maggie Zhu
Omnivore's Cookbook
My name is Maggie and I’m the creator behind Omnivore’s Cookbook. My website features Chinese recipes and videos that help my readers recreate their favorite takeout dishes and dishes that give them a real taste of China. Born and raised in China and currently living in the US, I help my readers cook authentic tasting dishes by adapting the ingredients and cooking methods to suit the American home kitchen. I started my blog back in 2013 and it has been an incredible journey to share my stories and expertise with people around the world. I really enjoy the human connections I’ve built through my blog. No matter whether it is a private message sent by my readers, comments on my blog or social media, or an email sharing the dishes made using my recipes, it always makes my day. I’ve heard many heartwarming stories about how the recipes made their dinner party a success or made their picky toddler enjoy eggplant.
In recent years, the evolution of search engines and the rise of AI have changed the internet a lot. But I still believe that content created by humans, from family heirloom recipes to beautifully handcrafted photos and videos, is the most powerful and irreplaceable content. I believe AI has the potential to make people’s lives easier in certain ways. But at the end of the day, it can never replace the work and stories created by humans, based on their years of real life experience and hard work.
